NWEA MAP (Measures of Academic Progress):2024-2025 Dates of Assessment:
Beginning of Year - September 5th, 10th, and 13th
Middle of Year - December 4th, 10th, and 13th
End of Year - May 7th, 9th, and 16th

Purpose: This is a norm-referenced assessment used to measure a student's growth and proficiency in subjects such as reading, math, and language usage. This assessment is taken three times each school year to monitor student growth. This is not an assessment students can fail. It is meant to show teachers individual student’s areas of strength and opportunities for growth.

Testing Information: Students will take the NWEA MAP assessment in class during designated days/times.
TELPAS (Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System):

Purpose: TELPAS assesses the English language proficiency of students who are Emergent Bilingual (EB) in Texas.

Testing Information: Texas annually assesses the English language proficiency of students who have been identified as English learners (ELs) in four language domains—listening, speaking, reading, and writing. TELPAS evaluates the progress that each EL makes in becoming proficient in the use of academic English. The campus is closed to visitors on this day.

Purpose: These are practice assessments aligned with the STAAR test that are administered once in the fall and once in the spring to 3rd and 4th grade students only.

Testing Information: The STAAR Interim Assessments are online tests that help teachers monitor student progress and predict how students will perform on the STAAR exam. 3rd and 4th grade students will participate in STAAR Interim.

Purpose: STAAR stands for State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness, which is the state's student testing program. It is a standardized test used in Texas to assess students' knowledge and skills in core subjects. 3rd and 4th grade students take the RLA/SLA and Math STAAR test.

Testing Information: The assessments are based on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills, which are the state curriculum standards. 3rd and 4th grade students will take the RLA/SLA STAAR test on one day and Math STAAR test on another day. The campus is closed to visitors on this day.
